This project focused on empowering first-time renters, by guiding them through the process of assessing and documenting the condition of their new apartment. Problem

First-time renters often lack the experience needed to effectively document the condition of their apartment upon move-in. This can lead to issues such as unreported damages or discrepancies, which may result in disputes over security deposits or maintenance responsibilities.

Solution

The move-in documentation checklist provides first-time renters with a structured and easy-to-use tool that guides them through the process of documenting their apartment’s condition. By covering key areas like appliances, fixtures, and cleanliness, the checklist helps renters accurately complete their move-in forms, avoid future conflicts, and feel confident in managing their new living space.

Inspriration for Project

This project idea was inspired by resources and briefs available on GoDesignSomething.com, a platform that provides innovative instructional design project ideas. Leveraging their comprehensive guides and examples, I applied concepts and techniques from my master's degree in instructional design to create this project. This experience allowed me to integrate academic knowledge with practical resources to support first time renters navigate the move-in process.
